Palm Cove Health & Beauty

Looking and feeling your best on your wedding day is key to creating a memorable and treasured ceremony.

Hair stylists and beauticians in Palm Cove have several tricks and techniques to make brides look even more glamorous on their special day but there is only so much they can contribute to make your look like a million bucks.

Health and beauty preparation should usually begin at least six months before your tropical wedding date and the longer you can keep up with a healthy and active regime the better the results will be on your special day.

Skin

Achieving soft healthy skin on your wedding day will make you look radiant in your wedding photos. Healthy skin is very important on your wedding day as all eyes will be on you and people will be getting close-up views of your skin and makeup.

If you don’t already have a healthy skin program consider visiting a dermatologist to recommend a skin care regime. Regular facials will help moisturize and detoxify the skin leaving it soft and supple.

Nowhere is it more important to wear sunscreen than in sunny Palm Cove. Wearing at least a spf 30 will prevent your skin from the harsh rays of the tropics. There is only so much you can put on your face to pamper and protect it.

On top of your cleanser, make-up remover, moisturizer and exfoliant you need to drink plenty of water (between 8-10 glasses a day), quit or cut down on smoking and lower your caffeine intake to truly get your skin glowing on your wedding day.

Getting to bed early and eating lots of fresh fruits and vegetables will ensure your whole face glows with health.

Make-up

Once your skin is spotless, your wedding day make up is something that needs to be considered. It is recommended that before you come to Palm Cove, go to local department stores and have a free make-up sample done by a professional beautician; ask them to experience with eye shadows, eye pencils, mascaras, foundations, and concealers until you have achieved your desired look.

By doing this you will have some idea of what you would like for your wedding once you arrive in Palm Cove. Your wedding day is not the time to attempt a new look because in 20 years time you are going to want to recognize yourself in your wedding pictures; the goal should be to achieve a polished and glamorous version of yourself.

This can be realized by using makeup to highlight your best feature (be it your beautiful eyes or lovely smile) and to be natural yet bold. Some helpful tips are to use waterproof mascara, long lasting lip stick and if you are going to re-shape your eyebrows; begin this a couple months before your wedding day.

During your wedding, appoint one of your bridesmaids to keep an eye on the condition of your make up and make sure you have back-up make up to touch up throughout the day.

Nails

Beautiful nails are also important in creating a glamorous and flawless look; the hands will be a focal point of the day as everyone will be gushing over your new wedding ring.

You should start a weekly manicure at least two months before the wedding to get those nails up to scratch. Before the wedding a professional manicure and pedicure is usually the best way to go and nail technicians will be able to recommend the best polishes to match your skin color and dress.

Picking the perfect fragrance to go with your wedding theme is also important, if you match the fragrance correctly then years down the line you will still associate that smell with your special day.

Hair

If you are planning on changing your hair for the wedding (be it a new hair cut or color) it is best to start experimenting at least six months beforehand.

Consult with your local stylist and make sure you provide your Palm Cove stylist with as much information and directions as you can when trying to maintain or obtain a certain desired look.

If you don’t already have a hairstyle in mind for your wedding day, ask your stylist to recommend something that suites your face, veil and dress.

Diet & Exercise

Finally to have a slim and toned body for your wedding day you should begin a healthy diet and exercise regimen at least six months before your wedding day.

Some important diet and nutrition tips that should be maintained include always eating breakfast so you don’t indulge later in the day, eat a small amount of protein with each meal to help you stay fuller longer, eat at least five portions of fruit and veg each day to help boost your metabolism, eat plenty of fiber to encourage a healthy digestive system, and try to eat every four hours to keep the metabolism active.

Eating food like avocados, carrots and Brazil nuts will make your skin smoother, hair and nails stronger and prevent wrinkles. When you are on holidays and the wedding rolls around there will be many temptations like chocolates, champagne and celebratory dinners.

Try to stick with your diet the majority of the time, allow one day a week or perhaps one small meal a day to indulge your cravings. In regards to fitness, the rule of thumb is a minimum of three 30 minute cardio work out sessions a week. Depending on how much weight you need to lose or what your fitness goals are different workout programs should be adopted.

Consult a personal trainer leading up to your wedding and have a personalized work out program designed for you. Once you have arrived in Palm Cove in the days leading up to the wedding there is plenty of ways to stay in shape; why not try scuba diving on the Great Barrier Reef?

Go on a trek through the rainforest or an adrenaline pumping ride on a white water raft? These are all great group Activities and are guaranteed to help you get fit while having fun on the days leading up to your wedding.
