The one and two bedroom suites sleep from two to six guests and some are equipped with kitchenettes. Spacious studio style rooms accommodate up to two guests and feature private balconies and the spa suites are beachfront rooms which include separate private spas.

yes we did it was great
My husband and I enjoyed our stay in Cairns itself, although, while our room was clean and tidy, we were very disappointed when, on our arrival, we were informed that the room we had been allocated had two single beds and not a queen size bed. Prior to our stay, I had requested a FIRM mattress, which was confirmed by you in two emails; one on our inital request and the other when confirmation of same was requested prior to our stay at Paradise on the beach.
The lady at reception said that you had requested two single beds and not a firm mattress; the result being, Paradise on the Beach staff simply zipped up the single beds and remarked that all the mattresses in the suites were the same - NOT FIRM. Hence, for thelength of our stay,I did not have one good nights sleep and felt a little frustrated.
Also, my husband and I found the staff at Paradise Beach reception to be very unfriendly - they were not at all interested in us at all (not that we expected them to fall all over us), and we were also not allowed to borrow a toaster for our room as it could possibly set off the smoke alarms ...we have never heard of such a thing, and there has been a toaster supplied at every other place we have ever stayed at!)

We at Paradise on the Beach Resort place the highest regard to guest comfort and safety.
With regard to the beds, we regard our beds as FIRM, they were replaced in 2008. We informed your agent of the refurbishment date and asked if you would prefer single beds – 23.08.10.
Your agents response was yes - single beds please (we assumed that you had been asked your preference in this). The bed was corrected from singles to KING before you went to your room. Both day and evening receptionists asked if the bed was firm enough, if everything was OK, and were told that it was. Had we been informed that the bed was not hard enough or that you were not satisfied we could have found a solution.
With regard to the toaster - we do not place them in the rooms without first talking to our guests and explaining the situation to them. We place the highest value upon guest safety and have a fervent hope that should we ever need the attention of the Fire & Rescue Service for a real fire incident, that the equipment and manpower will be available to attend, not involved with a false alarm callout elsewhere. In that regard we fully support the current fine of $950 levied upon owners of properties generating a false alarm. The Childers fire has changed many safety regulations and property directives.
At Paradise on the Beach Resort extreme care is needed in toaster use as the smoke detectors are directly over the kitchen bench. Toaster smoke is the most prolific cause of false alarm callouts among holiday properties.
Unfriendly staff, well this is a bit daunting. We try to be smiling, cheerful and helpful at all times; obviously we did not succeed here and do apologise. We are always ready for a chat about guests holidays ( or things in general), to advise on outings not to be missed or restaurants to try, but many years working a reception desk has proved that some find enquiries invasive, and dislike being accosted with repetitive comments each time they walk past.
Excellent accomodation and staff
Paradise on the Beach was just wonderful. Margaret, at the front desk, was friendly & went out of her way to direct us to restaurants, & we are friends for life. Whenever I hear people interested in traveling to North Queensland I recommend our hotel. Thank you for a fantastic holiday!
